Charlene Anderson is a guiding force for not only
Turtle Pond Music but also for all the artist and composers who work with us.
Each day she spends time not only with her own music but also actively inspiring
others to believe in themselves and make their dreams happen.
Charlene began her association with TPM by
auditioning to sing demo's for new songs. That never happened. Instead after
reviewing 30 other singers, Mildren Calhoun, then talent coordinator, and Col.
Walt Johnson decided that there was more potential in this young lady then just
a studio demo singer.
During the time that Charlene has been with Turtle
Pond she has scored five songs on independent R&B charts, to include a #1
hit with a song she herself wrote. Charlene has become accomplished in
arrangement and production as well. She is a natural on the sound board and
will often create new approaches to old established methods. Charlene is also a
budding bass player. Where it has been Col. Walt’s honor to work with her, she
was also influenced by the late Earl L. Phelps Bass stylings.
In her time with Turtle Pond Charlene has
headlined concerts and performed shows to benefit the families of our military.
She has worked with artist in the studio of every genre’. Not only in production
in but lending her voice to background vocals.
Charlene is originally from Queens, New York and
comes from a tradition rich in music. Her influences are wide and varied and it
is her belief that there are two kinds of music, good and bad, and she prefers
the good. She always makes that good even better.
Based upon her proven skills, her artistry and
talents ( Col. Walt calls her a total package ) it is no surprise that Charlene
has become known as “the C.E.O”. of Turtle Pond Music.
